OFFSHORE

Positioned at the heart of the Gulf of Guinea, CNIC's strategic location enables its offshore service to satisfy offshore petroleum industries operating along the gulf of Guinea. With competitive pricing, emphasis on quality work, timely delivery, and its commitment to personnel safety and environmental standards, CNIC has also been able to garner a large international clientele for a wide range of Offshore projects.

Some of the repair and refurbishment projects undertaken include :

  • Repair and refurbishment of Mobile Offshore Drilling Units (MODUs) (i.e. attending to structures, piping, accomodation quarters, painting, etc.);
  • Repair and rebuilding of drilling barges and jackup rigs;
  • Repair and refurbishment of distribution buoys;
  • Repair and rebuilding of accomodation and crane barges;
  • Dry docking and repairs to diving support vessels;
  • BOP flange repairs.

Offshore activities include :

  • Onsite surveys carried out by CNIC engineers to help the client define the scope of works for repair projects;
  • Project engineering with computer-aided design facilities;
  • Dry docking on floating docks of 3500 T and 10,000 T lifting capacities;
  • Afloat repair services for barges and oïl rigs at Douala Port and limbe (Cape Limboh);
  • Surface treatment, and painting of hulls and enclosed spaces on barges and rigs;
  • Fabrication and machining of parts for client equipment including oilfield equipment;
  • Pre-fabrication and installation of major steel structures on oil rigs including blister tanks and modules;
  • Rebuilding of pre-existing steel structures to international standards;
  • Rebuilding and repairs of oil piping systems including High Pressure mud piping to international standards;
  • Maintenance work on mechanical and propulsive equipment such as thrusters and main engines;
  • Installation of major equipment (such as cranes and shale shakers) on barges and rigs;
  • Maintenance and installation of electrical equipment;
  • Overhaul and maintenance of dredging equipment;
  • Logistics, procurement, and materials management for repair projects;
  • Upgrading and extension of existing accomodation quarters (underdeck modules);
  • Flying squads that carry out major repairs and upgrades afloat and on site without affecting the commercial operations of rigs.

 

MISSION

The Agency and Transit Department plays a strategic role in Cameroon Shipyard and Industrial Engineering Limited, CNIC. The international maritime regulations require that, all foreign maritime businesses should have a local representative, to facilitate their operations in foreign countries vis-à-vis their local administration, legal, social, commercial etc regulations and practices.

It is against this background that, the Founders of CNIC placed Agency and Transit operations at the center of their broad vision.

GATE WAY/MIRROR ROLE

Practically speaking, agents of the Agency and Transit Department are the first to commence preliminary work immediately a deal is sealed between CNIC management and a client. Agency manages and handles the liaison between CNIC and her clients, CNIC’s client with local administrations, third parties, suppliers, etc.

The Department is the gate way/mirror between CNIC and her clients. Its main objective is customers’ total satisfaction and security in CNIC in particular and Cameroon as a whole.

It also plays the role of the client’s local representative once designated by the client for all yard /client related issues with CNIC, third parties, sub contractors, suppliers etc, in strict respect of the law and applicable regulations to ensure clients total satisfaction while with CNIC in a win-win relationship.

THE AGENCY SERVICE OPERATIONS

The Agency Service carries out: Husbandry operations,  maritime shipping activities,  port calls, maritime activities onshore and offshore, vessel management (supplies and provisions)  logistic activities, air port services, crew changes & shuttles, transportation, accommodations, hotel reservations at special CNIC rates,

TRANSIT SERVICE OPERATIONS

  CNIC’s transit service operations benefit exonerations from VAT and Custom duties on shipments for her clients! The transit service manages the importation and exportation of shipments, equipments, materials, etc for CNIC clients VAT & custom duties free. It handles the clearing, forwarding and handling of shipments for CNIC, her partners and clients in strict respect of the applicable laws and regulations in cargo and vessel handlings.

  • Dry docking and repairs to Offshore Service Vessels(OSVs).
  • Dry docking and repairs to dredgers.
  • Dry docking and repairs to ships and tankers.
  • Dry docking and repairs to patrol boats and frigates.
  • Dry docking and repairs to fishing trawlers and trucks.

Marine activities include:

  • Onsite surveys carried out by CNIC engineers to help the client define the scope of works for repair projects.
  • Project engineering with computer-aided design facilities.
  • Dry docking and repair services for vessels or floating docks of 500 T, 1000 T, 3500 T and 10,000 T lifting capacities.
  • Afloat repair services to vessels, especially those at the Douala Port.
  • Surface treatment and painting of hulls and enclosed spaces on vessels.
  • Repair and rebuilding of pre-existing steel structures to international standard.
  • Rebuilding and repairing all piping systems as well as dredging of pipes to international standards.
  • Installation, overhaul and maintenance works on mechanical and propulsive equipment including propeller polishing.
  • Fabrication and machining of parts for client equipment.
  • Installation of equipment (such as cranes, winches, etc.) on vessels.
  • Maintenance and installation of electrical and electronic equipment.
  • Overhaul of sea chests and valves of vessels.
  • Overhaul and maintenance of dredging equipment.
  • Logistics, procurement, and materials management for repair projects.

Various industrial engineering projects carried out include:

  • Construction of a 100t BGF1 platform at RIO DEL REY for TOTAL E&P Cameroon.

  • NNF1/ITF1 compressor gas lift. Construction, lifting and installation of two gas lift compressor modules on NYANGASSA and ITINDI platforms for TOTAL.

  • Construction and installation of a platform at high sea for the Rapid Intervention Battalion (BIR).

  • Carry out extension of maritime installations for SONARA.
  • Manufacture and assembly of 2 conveyor units for pneumatic discharge of cement for Cimencam.

  • Replacement and painting of Batchenga brigde.
